What shoes should a man wear with a navy wedding suit?

We often receive emails from chaps asking if we can advise which colour brogue to buy to go with a particular suit.

Whilst this is personal and subjective, there are also some go to combinations which are tried and tested.

Here is our rundown using our best selling Oxford Brogue CM143003

Chocolate? Tan? Oxblood? Black?

1) Dark brown / Mahogany brown.  This is a go to all round choice.   A rich burnished leather shoe is elegant enough for a wedding, it is more interesting than black, and when jackets come off navy trousers and a crisp white shirt pair beautifully with rich brown leather shoes.

2) Tan Burnished.  Especially good for a summer, country or less formal wedding.  The Tan gives more contrast against navy and offers a fresher less formal styling.

3) Black.  This is the most formal. Black Oxford would be the best option for a very formal wedding, particularly if it's in the evening.

4) Oxblood/Burgundy.  This is a stylist statement and pairs beautifully with a navy suit.   It gives a more distinctive look, and can be paired with burgundy accessories for a polished look.
